1 – City of Fort Lauderdale
The City Fort Lauderdale summer camps cover a range of interests from sports and outdoor exploration to arts and culture, all while providing an environment that encourages our kiddos to build friendships, develop their skills, and just have an all-around great time while on summer break!
And let’s not forget that the City of Fort Lauderdale offers scholarships for those families that may need a little financial help. Because, let’s face it, every child deserves a magical summer, regardless of their circumstances.
I found out about the City of Fort Lauderdale Summer Camp by one of the moms that go to my daughter’s school. This was a godsend because I didn’t know what I was gonna do for the summer.

Summer Camps in Broward County
2 – Broward County School Summer Program
While the Broward County Schools summer program may be ideal for some families, not its for many of us.
There are many programs they offer however, many of them are only about a month long and only 4-5 hours a day. This isn’t ideal because most parents work 8 hours. I noticed there are some locations/programs that offer aftercare but not all do.
You’ll definitely want to take this into consideration before you decide which summer camp in Broward County is right for you and your lil one.

3 – Kimlings Martial Arts Academy Summer Camp
This will be my daughter’s 2nd year at Kimling’s and we both LOVE IT! I’m not gonna lie, I was apprehensive at first because my daughter had never spent time away from me [in an afterschool or summer camp setting].
As a mom, I can tell you that Kimling’s Academy Summer Camp is an amazing choice for the kids. They have the chance to strengthen both their minds and bodies – it’s not just about the karate, but also the lessons they learn along the way. The summer camp is packed full of fun with so many activities and outings.
But it’s not just about having fun. The kids also get to learn new things, make friends, and even develop some impressive leadership skills. It’s amazing to see them grow and change as they enjoy their time at camp.

4 – YMCA of South Florida Summer Camp
Now, I know what you’re thinking, YMCA, really? It’s been around forever! But let me tell you, it’s an institution for a reason. We all know the song, but the YMCA is so much more than a catchy tune. It’s a place where community comes alive.
I love how the YMCA promotes inclusivity and diversity. It’s a place that welcomes everyone, regardless of their background or abilities. This gives me peace of mind knowing that my kids are growing up in an environment that reflects the real world – diverse, inclusive, and respectful.
Their commitment to community service is something I value dearly as a parent. They regularly organize events and activities that give back to our community.
